The Darjeeling Limited (2007)

Starring: Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman
Director: Wes Anderson
Country: USA
Genre: Drama, Comedy

In a long line of eclectic classics by Wes Anderson, The Darjeeling Limited may not be hailed as highly as its predecessors (minus Life Aquatic), but it still remains a touching and unique  story of rekindling and mending broken bonds (and in Wilson’s case, faces.) This film could pick up a few years after The Royal Tenenbaums, as a family torn apart, but brought together by the demise of their father. There’s something relieving about the faults of each character, which balances each of their selfish egos that make this journey so worth the while. While this subject and its telling are nothing new to Anderson, its exotic location and wonderful cast create an entertaining world. While the cars might not stray too far from the track, a train ride is always fun, isn’t it?
